The Pakuranga area has a diverse range of housing that ranges from the luxury homes of Manor Park to the mid-range homes in Pakuranga Heights.  Purchasers can also select from listings of two-bedroom units and more affordable homes in Burswood.

Schooling is a big draw card for families. Highly rated local schools include Sunnyhills Primary, Pakuranga Heights Primary, Wakaaranga School and Farm Cove Intermediate.  Macleans College and Pakuranga College have very good reputations, and some people seek the excellent education available at top private co-ed school, St Kentigerns College.

Shopping around this area is some of the best in New Zealand. The Pakuranga Westfield Shopping Centre is conveniently located and just a few minutes drive away is The Hub on Ti Rakau Drive.  Opposite The Hub is the massive and very popular Botany Town Centre. Highland Park has its own shopping centre too.

Lloyd Elsmore Park has everything from tennis courts and golf courses, to horse riding, croquet, badminton and bowls, along with a rugby club and hockey fields, a variety of swimming pools, a gym, sauna, spas, and a big skate park.  The Pakuranga Country Club golf course is nearby, as is a boat ramp and marina.   A vibrant community, cultural and arts centre is just opposite the Pakuranga Library.

Proximity to beaches is another reason people move here. Several areas of Pakuranga are on the waterfront including Edgewater and Farm Cove, with beautiful beaches and a marina on the Bucklands Beach Peninsula, just a short drive away.
